e-Telex is the use of modern technology for simple telex messaging equivalent to the world’s original secure messaging network known as “telex”.
e-Telex is a modern and convenient messaging services with full inter-operation with conventional telex. Telex messages are sent to, and received as email to/from the SwissTelex exchange.
Sending Telex
Telex messages are sent as e-mail to the SwissTelex exchange.
Send via e-mail
The format use the Address line, the called party telex number, including the international country code @ the telex server assigned name
Example: tlx.8722076@aims1.net
The telex message text contain only valid telex characters (ITA No. 2 alphabet) and the message must be in plain text format (no rich-text, no html and no attachment allowed) |

Delivery notification
Each telex message will be queue for immediate delivery to the telex network. If the delivery to the telex destination is unsuccessful, the telex gateway will retry delivery defined, after the maximum attempts of retry, a notification email is sent back to the subscriber, indicating the telex delivery status (Sent or Failed) with reasons.
Receiving Telex
Inbound telexes for e-Telex subscribers are received and process in the SwissTelex telex exchange and delivered to the subscriber’s designed mailbox. The answerback delivered to the calling party will be according to the subscriber’s Telex code accordingly.
Telex message received for the subscriber are delivered by the Telex gateway in a matter of minutes after the message is received by the SwissTelex exchange. Should the email delivery having difficulty to reach the subscriber mailbox, the server will repeatedly attempts defined on the gateway. Optional procedures are available for alternative delivery. |
